Ingredient List and Benefits

Base Ingredients

Wheat Flour
Wheat flour acts as the main binder in all recipes. It is replaced with rice flour in the wheat/gluten free recipes. Wheat adds needed fiber to help with regularity as well as some iron and antioxidants. Without the use of eggs and dairy (which are known allergins and high in cholesterol and calories), flour is the only binder used in my recipes.

Honey
Honey is used as a sweetener to appease your canine's sweet tooth. Local honey has also been shown in many studies to help lessen and even prevent allergies in humans and other animals. It also builds the immune system and helps the body fight off cancer. Honey provides a natural source of energy that won't cause a crash later in the day.

Olive Oil
Wait a second....are we cooking Italian or cookies? Vegetable oil and canola oil have few health benefits, but olive oil has a host of benefits when added to everything from dry kibble do the treats themselves. Yes it is about three times more expensive, but I feel health is worth it! Even the cooking spray used on the pans is olive oil. The fat found in olive oil actually helps lower cholesterol and can aid in weight loss. This oil has also been shown to help control sugar levels in diabetic humans and help individuals with blood clotting issues. It is great for the coat and skin as well!

Flaxseed
Get ready for the gigantic list of health benefts from this simple ingredient! Fiber(helps with digestion), Manganese (bone and muscle health), Vitamin B1 (breaks down fat), and Omega 3 Fatty Acids (help fight cancer)

Oatmeal
Oatmeal has been shown to reduce cholestrol in humans, and provides both soluble and insoluble fiber. It also contains protein, thiamin, magnesium, phosphorus, zinc, manganese, selenium, and iron. Pretty great for dogs and humans!

Peanut Butter
This seems like a no brainer.....what dog doesn't go ga ga over some fresh peanut butter? Not only does it make these cookies delectable for both your doggie and you, but it is also a great source of vegan protein. The fats are healthy fats and peanut butter also contains Magnesium (strengthen bones), Vitamin E (glossy coat and soft skin), and Antioxidants (helps prevent signs of aging).
